This high quality Hit and Miss Wooden Gate is handmade in the UK by S T Fencing using pressure treated rough sawn timber.
The Hit & Miss style has a few advantages, the first is that the design allows wind to pass through the gate rather than blow against it, so would be the perfect choice if you live in a particularly windy area.
The second advantage is they are double sided, which means they look exactly the same on both sides, great if your gate is exposed at the front and back.
Thirdly most of our competitors use 100 mm wide boards which you can see through at certain angles, our 125 mm boards create a greater overlap covering the gap between the front and back boards.
Matching fence panels can also be purchased here to complete your look.
The gates are made using quality, pressure treated, timber, which involves vacuuming high quality preservatives into the fibres of the timber and is completed at an FSC registered saw mill, this creates long lasting timber that is low in maintenance. Click here to find out more.
Please note: If fittings are selected you will receive 1 x latch, 2 x hinges and 1 x padlock bolt (padlock not included) in black. These fittings will be provided separately for you to fit yourself.
These gates are made with 125 mm x 12 mm boards. The framework is made from timbers which are fully braced and screwed for stability.
Leaving a small gap of roughly 10 – 20 mm between the gate and the post is advised to allow the gate to expand in wet weather without catching.
We can manufacture these items in our factory to any size up to 3 ft (1829 mm) wide by 6 ft high (approx).
To order a bespoke size please select the ‘Bespoke size’ option in the drop down options list above. Then in the comments box in your basket at the end of your order please state the exact measurements required (w x h) Please leave a gap of 10 mm to the width of the gate to allow for expansion in wet weather.
As we manufacture to your requirements we are unable to accept any returns of bespoke made products.
The timber will be a brown / natural wood colour upon arrival but may turn a silver / grey colour overtime due to weathering. If you would prefer a different colour, you can use any wood care or fence paint to reach your desired choice.
Due to our timber being pressure treated, no maintenance is required. Should you wish to prolong the appearance of your wood there are various treatments available in most diy / hardware stores.

Please Note – our dispatch times are taking longer than usual at the moment and should be considered before you placing an order. We are a small family run business and the main reason for the extended delay is due to a nationwide shortage of timber meaning our usual deliveries of timber to the warehouse is taking much longer. All our fence panels are made to order and we will continue to do our best to get your items manufactured and dispatched in the quickest time possible. Current lead times are up to 12 weeks.
Once your order has been processed and your items have been made you will receive more details (usually via email) about your delivery including the date your items will be with you and who will be delivering the goods.
Due to our carriers insurance, delivery can only be made to kerbside.
